If you own or work in a Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) in the manufacturing sector and have struggled with knowing how to adopt Industry 4.0 (i4.0) practices to increase your business productivity, good news! Bosch Rexroth Regional Training Centre (BRRTC), a SkillsFuture Queen Bee Market Leader, can offer you support.

The September 2023 edition of SkillsFuture Jobs-Skills Insights (SFJSI), A Practical Approach for Small and Medium Enterprises to Adopt i4.0 and Upskill the Workforce (Manufacturing Sector), features three industry Proof-of-Concept (POC) projects conducted by BRRTC as they guide the local SMEs.

By integrating advanced technologies (AI, the Internet of Things and robotics and automation), BRRTC supported three companies with different specialties in using a combination of digital and i4.0 skills to adopt new technology in areas of preventive maintenance, process management and inventory management. You can find out more about the POC solutions in the report from these three companies – Kim Hock Corporation (a metal and wood waste recycler), Oriental Motor Asia Pacific (a motor manufacturing specialist) and Tritan AMS (a precision machine tooling manufacturer).

You can also read about the highly transferable sustainability skills and critical core skills that are crucial to the manufacturing sector, as well as job roles upskilled through the POC, their new key tasks and demand growth and number of job posts advertised in 2022 for these skills.

What’s more, you can also search for curated courses on Critical Core Skills and i4.0 adoption to start your upskilling journey!
